History And Credentials
Control Fire and Safety LLC
was formed and began doing business under this name on April 1, 1987. Prior to that the business was owned and operated as Shannon Fire Equipment, a division of Shannon Hardware Co., Ltd.
The current manager/member Mark Bernucho of Control Fire & Safety LLC
was employed by the Shannon Hardware Co., Ltd. since the late 1970s and became its divison manager in the early-to-mid 1980s, when it was decided upon by Shannon Hardware Co., Ltd. to sell the fire equipment division of the company. That was the inception of what is now known as Control Fire & Safety LLC, located at 822 Front Street in downtown Morgan City, LA.
Since this time, we have strived to provide our client base with the most up-to-date technology available in today's market in sales and services offered by our firm. We believe in servicing you, our valued customer, with honesty, integrity and the best quality and workmanship available.
Over the years, we have also been able to increase our sales and services offered by securing distributorships from major manufacturers in our related industry as well as continued education and training. Please see our products and services

Certifications, licensing and acceptable agencies affiliations:
Control Fire & Safety LLC
is an American Bureau of Shippers (ABS) certified facility and United States Coast Guard (USCG) accepted facility. We are licensed by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office, and all technicians are licensed and have been tested to state-certified standards and the standards set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
We are a certified Department of Transportation (DOT) cylinder requalifier retest or (hydrostatic test) facility for DOT-specified and non-DOT-specified cylinders. We are certified and capable of in-house hydrostatic cylinder testing, recharging and the visual inspection of high- and low-pressure DOT and non-DOT cylinders with a three-year recurred training program in place.
We are also certified as required by DOT to put hazardous materials of commerce (into transportation) also with a three-year recurring training program in place as well. Every five years we are required to have a third-party independent inspection agency do a facility evaluation/inspection and make a recommendation to DOT for the renewal of our retester identification number (RIN) as required by DOT. This retester identification number is also required by DOT to enable us to do a visual inspection of a commonly used low-pressure DOT-specified dry chemical fire extinguisher as most of you have in your workplace or homes and are familiar with.

is fully insured and has a 10-point Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corporation (LWCC) safety management plan actively in place.
Industry-related and non-industry-related memberships include National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors (NAFED), Compressed Gas Association (CGA), National Safety Council (NSC), U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Saint Mary Parish Chamber of Commerce, and the St. Mary Industrial Group (SMIG).
